Campaign season is upon us!
Iowa Shares is happy to announce that our 2011 fundraising campaigns have begun! Every fall we participate in payroll deduction campaigns with over 25 businesses and public agencies across the state of Iowa. With their support we are able raise much needed funds for our member nonprofits.
Here’s a quick list of what we’re doing with your support…
- Supporting low-income families into safe, decent, affordable homes in our area (Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity)
- Further developing young women’s public leadership skills, creating opportunities for them to build relationships with women involved in public leadership (Women’s Resource and Action Center)
- Funding projects at elementary schools to educate kids on caring for the environment (Environmental Advocates)
- Supporting the High School Model United Nations (Iowa United Nations Association)
- Helping spay and neuter cats and dogs in our area to curb overpopulation (Johnson County Humane Society)
- Producing the Iowa Women’s Music Festival, an annual event in our community (Prairie Voices Productions)
- Enhancing the cultural life of our area by bringing world-renowned performers to Iowa City (The Englert Theatre)
